The Blackout

So, erm, yeh. I haven't been on here in aaages, a fair amount of the interests and stuff are out of date (it was where my notorious blogging started), I'm just using it for a write-up k? I have a Permanent Account, I shouldn't waste it.

When everything has gone, we'll still be begging for moreCollapse )

Thankyou to The Blackout and Pledge Music for bringing this to me. If you don't plan to already, buy the album. From what I've heard, it's worth it. X

Repeat first-time offender.

Dear Bikki,
I want to know who you are.

Re : Repeat first-time offender.
Dear Bikki,
Thankyou for your interest, creeper, but I don't give out that information.

Writer's Block: Really, Truly

Do you believe in true love? What about love at first sight?

This WB makes me want to listen to The Darkness and do mad dances. :P

No really. I believe that true love can be found. As for love at first sight - if you're very perceptive, it is possible, though I would say that it's probably an extreme rarity, most people who believe that they've found "love at first sight" are either lying or talking about a crush.
I woke up exhausted, wearing yesterday's clothes (apart from my snowboots and bedsocks, which I have learned make MUCH more practical gig shoes than Vans with height increasers and normal socks), probably completely confused Bebe as I had no idea what I was talking about, being half-awake an' all ....

Despite all that, I had the most amazing night out that I have had this year, and the best British road trip that I have had since - erm, I don't know.

I sat in a car, fagless, for around two and a half hours, every second of that worth it, for two hours or so standing next to a pole on a balcony. Again, all worth it. The best bits were when they played "Lullaby", the song that got me into them (a bit of it sounds freakishly like the James song of the same name), plus Andy's talking surrounding it - getting drunk in Scotland and strange girls in Hamburg, very funny - and the beginning of the encore, when Andy played half of "Caves" solo. But there was no bum note, except maybe when Andy played the piano with his feet, that was a bit weird. Second best band that I have ever seen, James being first.

A Jack's Mannequin gig is much more like seeing James than, say, seeing You Me At Six (whom I saw three nights before). YMAS, it's all about the screaming and the jumping around and the fit lead vocalist showing off his legs, way more about having a fun night out than the actual music. Jack's Mannequin, like James, you book your tickets because you want to see a talented band. Not that I don't like You Me At Six, of course I think they're brill, but I'd say that they have more "potential" than "talent". Also, YMAS' setlist was almost identical to the tracklisting of their album, what's that all about!?

Onward with the night. After the gig, we drove around aimlessly for a while (there's a reason why people only seem to walk or use public transport in London), then gave up for a bit and stopped to get some chips from a 24-hour takeaway. After the chips, we finally made it to the M1, my dad drove like he was trying to be top of the list on Top Gear's "Star In A Reasonably Priced Car" list (I love fast driving), and we got home at about 1am.

Jack's Mannequin!

YAY, An Audience With Jack's Mannequin at King's College London tonight! :D
Can't wait and that's about all I have to say at this moment.
Love you LiveJournal. B-star. x

Writer's Block: Priorities

What quality do you think is most important in a significant other?

Just .... being as right for me as my bird is the most important thing possible to me. Being the dizzy flamenco, the mind-blowing, bedbreaking, missing piece of my inner peace. I could not be happier to be with such a lovely person. As of 28/2/2009, after two years, two weeks (too long), Bikki is officially "taken"! =]

Writer's Block: AKA

What's the story behind your username?

Rebecca, Becki, Bikki, bikz. Natural progression. ;]

I didn't make this (image from postsecret), but I identify with it.

Because it will never stop me. =]

-The Girl In The Black Scarf x
(title nicked from "Confessions Of A Shopaholic", and my scarf is black and white, but meh)

PS. I got a past lives regression analysis in my e-mail today from "Jenna". I have no idea what my past lives are, because I was too busy laughing at one line from the analysis - "Your Moon is conjoined with Uranus." I wonder if I was this immature in a past life?

I get bored. =]

Song mashups are fun.Collapse )

Disclaimer : This is a mashup, ie. one song's words put to another song's music.
No offence is meant to either artist, this is just me arsing around due to random inspiration. =]
